For some (my husband being one of them) the term “vacation fitness” may seem like an oxymoron. However, for busy moms who embrace feeling fit and strong and healthy, we know- we feel better when we stay moving!
Vacation should absolutely be waaaay more laid back. Move when you feel like moving! Unless you’re training for a race, there’s no need to be super strict with your mileage or paces!
(And to be honest: even if you are training for a race, there’s still room to be flexible. Unless your race is in three weeks, make room for some slight modifications on your plan. Moms need vacations, and you deserve to savor yours!)
These items will maximize the chance that, when you do feel motivated and excited about going for a beach run, or exploring a new city with your music on and your heart rate up, you’ll be ready to go! You are going to be one of those moms that makes tons of amazing memories, without the vacation “extra five pounds and feeling ugh” hangover!
I’m going to do a little show and tell in the video below, but for this trip, let’s assume it’s warm and tropical! We are talking warm-weather runs in the sun!
Socks and shoes might be kind of obvious, but I promise you, I’ve got you totally covered. Not only will you have everything you could possibly want for your run, but I’ve included a few items you might not think of if you’re not used to warm-weather running. Let’s be sure you’re protected, and hydrated, shall we!?
I just got back from Hawaii. It was an amazing vacation! We hit Maui and Kauai, and while I loved Maui, I can’t wait to get back to Kauai! Hopefully in the next decade, lol.
I shot a short video with my daughter talking a bit about how I love to run and stay fit on vacation, so be sure to check it out below, but all the info and all the gear I love is in the PDF!
In it I cover:
- Your feet
- Your skin
- Your face
- Your tunes
- And even how to incorporate a bit of strength into your vacation fitness routine!
Okay, let’s get into it! Check out the video below, and then grab your PDF!
I put together a quick one-page PDF for you so you can get the fun bands I mentioned, but also all the other stuff I love to take on vacation. Grab yours by clicking here!
